SARAH GOULD

NORTHWEST VERMONT AREA REPRESENTATIVE

Sarah is married to her husband, Aaron. She moved to VT in 2013 from NJ. Her children all played a variety of sports: karate, dance, soccer, x country, nordic skiing, lacrosse, & football. “I saw first hand the influence coaches had on my children.”

Sarah had been in education for over 20 years as both a teacher and administrator in NJ & VT. She is someone who understands the struggles of students today and their need for strong adult role models. She feels God has called her to FCA to help strengthen these role models.

Saved at 24, with the birth of her oldest son, she has been Christian much of her adult life. She has been highly involved in multiple aspects of church ministry: children's ministry, nursery, VBS, women's ministry, missions, cleaning, Bible Studies, & outreach events. She currently attends and is a member of Northside Baptist Church in Saint Albans, VT.

Growing up Sarah was always athletic but not an athlete of many organized sports. As a child she danced for years and as a teen, she fell in love with skiing and snowboarding. She found karate as an adult. After her children were in karate for a couple years, she decided to try it and loved it. She now is a 5th Dan and owns a local karate school, R Family Dojo. Her school fosters the idea of extended family and builds strong bonds with families. Over the past 10 years, she has led her dojo with Christ’s light and has supported many families. FCA has given her tools to do this more effectively.

“I understand a coach's heart. I understand student athletes, the troubles they face and the guidance they long for. I pray that God will use my relationship with Him to build lifelong relationships with coaches that I can support, strengthen and pray for, thereby empowering them to be His light to the student athletes, to speak Truth and to make an eternal difference.”

She is looking for partners through the Holy Spirit as Ecclesiastes 4:12 states, to "create a cord of three strands that will not be broken." This cord is being tied together to form a net. “God has created me to be ‘a fisher of men’ Matthew 4:19, for Northwest Vermont as an Area Representative.” Her goal with FCA is to lead coaches and athletes into a growing relationship with Christ and his church so that they can then lead others to Him.
